David and Victoria Beckham have chosen and announced the name of their daughter. Harper Seven Beckham is the couple’s first daughter after three sons together and 12-years of marriage. Which is news because Lady Beckham’s womb had, thus far, been successful in its efforts to f**k with her life. The name comes the morning after the Sunday birth of the slightly oddly-named baby girl; she was born Sunday morning, in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Because David Beckham can’t stay off his Facebook, even as his wife is expelling a baby thing, he wrote this morning, ‘I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.’ So far as the meaning of the name, Seven is believed to be a reference to the footballer’s number when he played for Manchester United and England. Moreover, according to a source, ‘Harper is an old English name something Victoria has always liked. Seven is a very lucky happy number and the baby was born just after 7am, in the seventh month.’ Further reports have the father crying with joy at the birth by elected Caesarean (the same birth method as her older children). New aunt Joanne Beckham tweeted, ‘Big congrats to my sister in law @victoriabeckham and my big bro on the birth of my beautiful niece : ) can’t wait 2 see u all xx.’ Former Spice Girl, also-pregnant Mel B added, ‘Congrats!!! Yipeee another spice baby is born, damn it wish it was me this AM cos I feel like I’m about to POP!’ Emma Bunton added, ‘Big kiss to @victoriabeckham can’t wait to meet your gorgeous girl!’

Victoria Beckham gave birth to her baby girl this weekend. It has been confirmed by People and Us Weekly, who also confirm the birth of Kate Hudson’s baby boy, that the parents of sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8½, and Cruz, 6½, welcomed their daughter at 7:55 a.m. Sunday in Los Angeles. Their reps also confirm the birth place as Cedars-Sinai Medical Center but no name has been released. A statement from their spokesperson reads the ‘happy and healthy’ little girl weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz and ‘David and Victoria Beckham are delighted. Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family.’

Victoria Beckham can be seen in this sneakily-taken photo as posted to her husband’s Facebook page. Beckham is days away from giving birth and is past the point the lazy rumour machine slated her to deliver her daughter by C-section. It had been rumoured that Beckham wanted a July 4th delivery to mark her wedding anniversary. However, there was never any truth to the rumours nor rumours that she secretly moved up the procedure one week. She’ll give birth when she gives birth. In the mean time, her husband demands she hand him his balls over a photo I can’t imagine she’ll be happy with. She’s been dour and hiding her bump under couture muumuus since about month three. This was posted with the message, ‘Took this pic of Victoria while she wasn’t looking. She looks amazing, so close now to the baby being born!’ This will be their first girl.

The lazy, baseless rumours about Victoria Beckham’s due date were wrong. Imagine that. It was alleged that Beckham scheduled a C-section to coincide with the royal visit to Canada and that she’d planned for an Independence Day delivery. It was just guesswork because Bechkam is due any day now and she married her husband on July 4, 1999. There was even a false report of the birth of their daughter on the weekend, with a fake name and fake birth weight; 5lbs 8oz with the conjured name of Felicity Beckham. None of which is true. Even so, fans started congratulating her on Twitter. However, she has NOT given birth and isn’t due for a few more days. ‘Contrary to certain reports, David and Victoria Beckham’s baby is not due today and that was never the case,’ clarified publicist Simon Oliveira, yesterday. In May, the publicist gave a vague birth date, which led to further speculation, ‘It is no secret that Victoria will be having her baby in the U.S.. We will not be confirming the date, although early July is correct.’

Here’s Victoria Beckham playing with her sons in a Los Angeles park. I guess it’s probably not cold in Los Angeles. But Beckham’s dressed like her baby thing’s cold and so she needs to insulate her womb, lest it demand compensation in the form of Snuggies and coco. Add to that, she’s trying to play soccer with her children while wearing five-inch high Louboutin boots. Which is completely and utterly practical. More pictures of the seven-month-pregnant mother-to-be trying to keep her balance, below. Bare in mind, these are some of the lowest heels she’s worn in some time. Her every day shoe is a seven-inch platform Louboutin.
