Whitney Houston AMA Performance Video 2009

Whitney Houston I Didn’t Know My Own Strength American Music Awards 2009.

Whitney Houston performed her new track I Didn’t Know My Own Strength at the American Music Awards 2009. The AMA performance was one of the many she has done as part of her post-crack comeback. She’s sounded rather rough around the edges during some of her appearances. For her past few shows, the singer sounded like she swallowed a bag of nails before she went on stage. However, she’d stopped gargling rocks and almost sounded like her old self for this song.

Jay-Z Alicia Keys Empire State Of Mind @ AMAs

Jay-Z Alicia Keys Empire State Of Mind duet at the American Music Awards 2009.

Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are developing a nasty habit of turning up to random awards ceremonies and showing up everybody there. They did it by stealing the show with an emotional rendition of Empire State of Mind at the VMAs earlier in the year. The pair of musicians had no mercy and did the same thing with their American Music Awards Empire State of Mind performance.

The two were introduced by Alex Rodriguez. Alicia Keys began the performance by singing New York, New York by Frank Sinatra, as Jay-Z attempted to come out of his stupor without anyone noticing. This song sounds much better when not accompanied by the demented dwarf whose name shall not be spoken here.

Rihanna American Music Awards Performance

Rihanna American Music Awards AMA 2009 performing Wait Your Turn and Hard.

Rihanna arrived on the red carpet for the AMAs 2009 looking a hot mess. The singer wore a black and white cardboard-looking cut out number, which looked the cheapest since that nasty Glamour Women of the Year tissue paper dress. The singer’s stage outfit was no better, as it looked like a bunch of pop socks.

Janet Jackson Medley @ American Music Awards

Janet Jackson Number Ones Medley American Music Awards 2009 performance.

Janet Jackson appeared at the American Music Awards and performed a medley of popular hits. The songs she sang at the AMAs included  her number one tracks Control, Miss You Much, What Have You Done For Me Lately, If, and she ended with Together Again. Jackson was met with rapturous applause and a standing ovation, and not just because she made frenzied grabs for her crotch on stage.
