Gabourey Sidibe Precious Movie Audition Video

The audition for Gabourey Sidibe’s title role in Academy Award winning movie Precious has been released. It definitely shows the actress, nominated for her debut role in the movie, with raw talent. The star had no acting experience, at the time of casting. She can be seen reading lines from a scene, in which she appears to be interacting with her social worker. She’s just twitchy, and eye contact-averse enough for the scene to work. It’s no wonder she got the part.

Howard Stern Rips Gabourey Sidibe on His Show

Howard Stern is obviously a douche, but at least he has the manners to be a funny douche. Usually. This time he may have gone too far, ripping into Precious actress Gabourey Sidibe. He said of the heavy-set actress that she was “the most enormous fat Black chick I’ve ever seen.” Um, compared to which other “fat Black chicks”? And, who cares when she can act? Sigh. Whatever. He called her fat, and said that Oprah and others were lying to themselves about her.

[Howard Stern ripped] Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe and her weight on his Sirius satellite show. “There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business, and she’s never going to be in another movie She should have gotten the Best Actress award because she’s never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?” Howard played segments of Oprah’s speech for Gabby from Oscar night on his show [and continued], “Oprah’s another liar, a filthy liar”, Howard added. “She’s telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she’s going to have a career.”

Co-host Robin Quivers continued to discuss the impossibility of Gabby finding work in Hollywood after her debut role in Precious. “And Oprah’s lying and saying you’re going to have a brilliant career”. [OK! magazine]

Oddly, Sidibe has already been cast again. I’m sure, much to Stern’s chagrin. According to OK!, she is set to appear on the Showtime series The C Word. Her next big-screen appearance will be opposite Zoe Kravitz in Yelling to the Sky.

Oscar Red Carpet: 2010 Academy Awards Pics

The 82nd annual Academy Awards took place on the night of Sunday March, 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Check below for the red carpet arrivals, of those who attended and looked either sharp as heck or like they’d rolled out of bed and wedged themselves into the nearest couture. The ceremony was slightly more interesting than usual, with the advent of two actors hosting/ opening the show who were an absolute hoot during the height of their popularity in the 1800s (okay, I admit it, that may have been a typo maybe but it stays).

Pictures of Ryan Seacrest, Mariska Hargitay, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Paula Patton and Robin Thicke, Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey, Zoe Saldana, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz, Rachel McAdams, Sigourney Weaver, Kristin Stewart, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Queen Latifah, Robert Downey Jr and Susan Downey, Keanu Reeves, Matt Damon, and Luciana Barroso, Kate Winslet, Jeff Bridges, Gabourey Sidibe, Sanda Bullock, Miley Cyrus, Suzy Amis and James Cameron, George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis, Cameron Diaz, Carey Mulligan, Demi Moore, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jennifer Lopez, below.

Sandra Bullock Best Actress Oscar Winner 2010

Apparently I fell out of bed, on the wrong side, and landed in a parallel universe where Sandra Bullock got acting lessons. She’s cute as crap, don’t get me wrong. Her never-plucked ‘brows and tough-cookie persona do her credit. In fact, she was so outstanding in cinematic masterpieces such as Speed that she should have won in every Oscar category and quite some time ago. But alas she only just won now (even though she was up against much more seasoned actresses).

The star won at the 2010 Academy Awards (fancy people name for the Oscars) last night, the same night I apparently developed a hardened drug habit that affected my memory. She scooped the Best Actress for her well-received role in The Blind Side. A movie I may go and attend, should I ever go blind as I gather that’s one of the requisites of enjoying its wonders. Excerpt from her speech…

While accepting her award, Bullock thanked “what this film was about for me, which are the moms that take care of the babies and the children no matter where they come from.” Bullock saved time to thank her mother “for not letting me ride in cars with boys until I was 18, because she was right. I would have done what she said I was gonna do.” [Pop Eater]

You can see more photos of Sandra Bullock arriving, in the press room holding her much-coveted award, and finally video of her Oscar acceptance speech.
