For a while now, at the bottom of each post, there has been a Share This button that allowed you to share posts you enjoyed with friends across several social networks.

Now, there is another button in each post that allows you to share content on Twitter more easily. You will notice in each post that you can now click Reweet. See the above post screen cap with a red circle, for an example. This Retweet feature is available on the site and also when you view the site feed in a reader or recieve the daily feed by email.

Clicking on this button makes sharing AG.com posts that you enjoy a lot easier, as it now only takes one click to share a link. Make sure you try this feature out if you find a post that you enjoy. Thanks y’all.

For the third time, a blog birfday falls on a weekend (SON OF A B*TCH…) and I know all my crack-addicted readers will be in the gutter and not online reading my site. I was totally not going to write myself a birthday post for my first year anniversary running the site. But then I thought, screw it… it’s been a damn hard year and I have a lot to be thankful for. I’m not, as you will know by now, quite articulate enough to express it… but I am ever so grateful.

First off, it would be easier to state what great things I have managed to avoid. Traps, if you will, that I totally thought I would fall into within the first year. I assumed that within a year of sharing my caustic (lack of) wit with people it would wear out and expire. Like, it’s in short supply and within the first few weeks I would have run out of things to say and I’ll end up running a site as (subjectively) personality-free as I deem some others to be. That seems not to be the case, and though I swear a little less as I get older, by no stretch have I run out of peen, vadge, crack or alcohol-based jokes to share with the masses. Other people’s actual rehab is my crack and I feed off it like Hohan feeds off of cokey snorts.

I managed not to run the site into the ground, yet. I managed not to pee off too many people  – try as I might. I managed not to develop one of the many substance abuse problems I mock these celebridiots for. I also managed not to have the complete breakdown I was predicting. I’m a little disappointed about that last one; what can I say, I’m still working on it.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the incredible fellow bloggers, media agencies and news agencies that have supported this coke wh*re of a mess blogger and her grammatically woeful escapades. Thank you too readers – for not judging my total lack of ability to punctuate a sentence. I prolly could if you tried…. but I’d have to come down first and that’s a lot of trouble to do umpteen times per day. Sorry.

So, I’m kind of an idiot as I totally meant to mention this earlier today. I’ve just created a brand new official fan page for you all to join on Facebook. All you need to do is click on “Become a Fan”, on the widget at the top of the sidebar. The page will be used to post stories of course, but more than that, it will also have gossip snippets not featured on the main site.

• Images: When you click on an image that has been posted from this point on, the gallery pages will now have an XL image at 500px wide. This is much improved from having to click and then click again, like you do on all images preceding this (it cannot be done retroactively, so check out the galleries on the posts going up in a minute).
• Posts: At the top and near the comment section of each post, there is now a “Previous” and “Next” post navigation system. This should make browsing/ scrolling through posts a little easier.
• Widgets: I am also trialling some little widgets and doodads. It’s cluttered like a mother, but I’ll have a tidy up and decide what to keep, next week.
• Blind Items: This has sh*t to do with navigation, but I’ve decided to dig up Blind Item posts and slot them back in like nuffink ever happened.

I gather it’s a time when US peeps get crunk and party like it’s 1999. Boozing is cool, as is sobering up and promptly returning to your regularly scheduled programming, early next week. I’ll be here in-part on the weekend and of course, from Monday on (it’s not a holiday over here, yo’).

I have a suspicion it was one of my crack-addicted anti-spam plugins that was hungry and greedily eating comments and also blocking some real commenters. Eeek. I am very, very sorry for any inconvenience!!!

I know you guys like long comments and so appreciate that it’s a pain in the bum to rewrite and then resubmit (which you amaze me by doing anyway). As I say, the issue with people being stopped from commenting should be over, I think. So comment away as normal.

So you know, if comments do not appear right away, you may just need to wait a second and refresh your  page. Comments will either appear there or in my admin queue for moderation, where they will be reviewed the same day (sometimes even regular phrases/key words etc. trip the standard spam filter – and there ain’t a lot I can do about that, sorry. Do not worry too much, the comment will be fished out by me).

Let me know if anything else goes funny when you comment and I can get it ironed out for you. You guys continue to rock, and you amaze me with your dedication to sharing your views within this community. I heart you all.

• Your first ever comment will be moderated before it is made public; I’ll approve and respond to all real comments. 
• Linking/ self-promotion in the body of the comment will get the whole thing deleted. 
• Troll comments & insults will never be approved. 
• Oh and one last thing, my comments section is not the place to wet your pants ‘cos I dissed your favourite star or expressed an opinion which arbitrarily got your fangirl/boy panties in a bunch… save it for your therapist.
• At this moment in time I am testing turning off comments on all posts over 2 weeks old, in hopes of reducing spam.

In a nutshell this means any and all real comments are welcome and will be approved.

 Be you blog owner yourself or a passer by, please comment if you like a story and assuming it’s a real and relevant commentary on the article it’ll be approved and I’ll respond with my own comments, where relevant, within 24 hours. 

Obviously spam, people with websites that appear to be non-existent/ shady or whatever may just go in the spam filter. And trolls get no room to move whatsoever (they seem to realised the site has a zero tolerance policy on trolling and moved from pestering me/ my readers).

With regard to comments, the longer the better plehz. I am so freakin’ proud of this site and the only thing that makes me prouder is the people on it! I haz a happy about every one of my readers and the fact that my notorious multi-paragraph long rants (like this one) don’t seem to even cause the blink of an eye.

Long postings by me seems to inspire comments of equal length. Don’t be shy. If you only have time to write a one liner, please feel free. If you are compelled to write a multi-paragraph novel in my comments section *cough… damn I heart you Kelly and Static… cough* PLEASE DO!

This site is the place to write long comments. Every single one is read, responded to and appreciated. 

…and if that wasn’t clear, let me summarise… WANT TO COMMENT??? BRING IT ON!!!

AmyGrindhouse.com is a humour and satire based site (not really comparable with more straight-laced news sites). Always has been. Always will be.

Everything on it is based in humour and the desire to entertain people.

None of the views expressed are meant to get people’s panties in a bunch, only to entertain.

The posts are written as my opinion and it is one to which I am entitled. I think my homegirl Miss Jia said it best when she said something along the lines of “My opinion does not need your co-sign. It is valid all on its own”. Neither she nor I need approval before expressing views in a forum of our individual creation, of which we each are the administrators.

AG is written only by me and although my opinion, this site was always a Perez Hilton type affair, where all views and the writing style were deliberately the most extreme, most aggressive and most indulgent etc. sides of my personality. For that I make no apologies, nor will I explain further or solicit commentary.

I genuinely care for community members, as I think they will know, but I think some new blood in Team Grindhouse needs a refresher on the site content and policies.

Please note, I will be unapproving/ turning off comments on a few posts where I feel there is no point in adding commentary to the piece itself.

I will be looking at updating my ‘About’ and ‘Terms’ page, my moderation and comment policies, moderating more thoroughly and turning off comments on posts older that either 7 or 14 days (not decided yet) where the dialogue will have gone stale.

As a heads up, new policies will be posted at the beginning of the week.
