Brittany Murphy Hubby: She Wasn't Like Corey

Almost three months after the death of wife Brittany Murphy, Simon Monjack has spoken out again about the star’s death. This time, he’s not pimping out a so-named charity. He’s whining about comparisons between his late wife and late actor Corey Haim. Monjack slammed comparisons between the two deaths, made by the media. He insisted the only similarity was they were both actors.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Monjack expressed distaste at his wife being compared to a known addict, further claiming Murphy never did illegal drugs.

In a new interview with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson, Simon set the record straight on the rumors surrounding his relationship with his late wife. The first topic Simon addressed was the parallels some people have suggested between Brittany’s death and the death of Corey Haim. “[It’s] absurd,” he said, adding that those suggestions make him “furious.” “Corey was someone that had openly used drugs for many, many years and had a problem. Brittany was someone that never used a drug in her life,” he said. Shaun asked, “You never saw, in the years that you were with Brittany, never saw her use illegal drugs?” Simon responded,“Absolutely not and nor did anyone else”. [Access Hollywood]

So, there you have it. A proven problem with illegal narcotics is so much worse than suspected years of abusing prescription drugs. So much so, in fact, that it’s worth ignoring the myriad of other parallels between the two deaths.
