Britney Spears is at number 1, with her new single, ‘Womanizer’ [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
In an astonishing acheivement that sees the singer reach the very top of the charts, for the first time since her 1999 debut “Baby One More Time” in 1999, she made history by jumping from number 96 all the way to number 1. Spears also has the number one hit on iTunes and in Spain, France, Canada and Sweden.
According to Billboard:
Spears’ single is spurred by first-week download sales of 286,000, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003, besting Mariah Carey’s take for “Touch My Body” by just over 200 units.
In between her nearly 10-year gap between No. 1s, Spears has placed four other top 10s on the Hot 100, the last being “Gimme More,” the first single from her last set, “Blackout.” That song jumped 68-3 last October with first-week download sales of 179,000.

I am pretty sure this site and all my open Cheeto adoration had something to do with her reaching the top!
You guys all went on iTunes and bought ‘An Ode to Cheetos’ didn’t you? *yells* Didn’t you! Well screw you, if you didn’t. I bought enough copies for everybody… 7, to be precise. That’s one for every Cheeto I can fit into my mouth at the same time 
Anyhoo, Brit Brit and I will be celebrating this victory tonight by laying out a nice wine and cheese buffet. And, by ‘wine and chesse buffet’, I mean ‘frappes and Cheese Nips buffet’. Then we’ll hit the town. Just us and Chester Cheetah. And together, we’ll paint the town orange.
