Britney Spears’ father, dungeon master Daddy Spears, is cracking the whip and ensuring that not only is his daughter in line and acting as she should, but also anyone who represents her.
Jamie Spears has taken his powers as a conservator online, and is spanking the arses of a long-loyal Britney Spears fansite, the well known/liked BreatheHeavy.com.
As owner and webmaster of the popular Spears fan-site, Jordan Miller has spent the past five years supporting the troubled star, when others spent time boosting their stats by crapping all over the star and her wacky behaviour. With huge traffic and a loyal readership, even as the star’s behaviour calmed down, the site remained popular… well, until now that is.
Daddy has threatened BreatheHeavy.com with legal action if they don’t stop using BritBrit’s name and likeness etc., for any kind of commercial gain/ profit. Her legal team claims the site is “replete with willful, unauthorized” use of copyrighted lyrics as well as video, audio recordings and photos of Queen B.
Miller has made some changes to the site and is no longer using ads – instead, he is desperately asking forum members for PayPal donations to pay the $350.00 per month site operation fee, until “the situation has been handled”. Uhuh.
As Miller claims his site is a non-profit, he is still hoping to get around copyright violation allegations (DMCAs). Frankly, ads or no ads, he will still face trouble as he alleges that dungeon master Daddy is making muchus dollar off his baby girl and that he is keeping her a prisoner in her own home.
He received a legal notice from Jamie Spears’ lawyers, pressuring him to dismantle the site by 3 p.m. PST Friday, or face an injunction, claiming they will pursue legal action courtesy of Mr Spears, who is allowed to do so as her conservator.
Daddy allegedly threatened Miller in a telephone conversation, saying “I will destroy your ass!”
If the site remains up, Spears’ legal team will pursue damages and “injunctive relief in connection with the blatant violation of her rights of publicity and privacy.”
