Blake Lively’s Reasons For Not Googling Herself

Blake Lively is catching flies, as the cover girl for the new issue of Marie Claire UK. The actress, who’s starting to do the rounds to get people excited for The Town, starring and directed by Ben Affleck (who didn’t know of her Gossip Girl career and thought she was a new actress), covers the October 2010 issue of the women’s magazine. My first thought, aside from the fact I could see Lively’s brain, was that she’s covering her best assets. Lively’s cleavage is such that the heathens at Vogue actually shaved her down a cup size or two for their cover.

She’s seen, in some of the cutest styling I’ve ever seen her wear, in a fitted sleeveless shirt with belted detail. The 22-year-old, who’s probably closer to 27 IRL (she looks it, at least, to my eye), does look very fresh on the cover.

She can be styled to look hookerish at times, but that’s more the emphasis on the bewbs than anything. Yeah, so, in summary, no bewbs. Her interview excerpts and another picture can be found below. Lively talks about fame, riding in Karl Lagerfeld’s Rolls Royce, and her romance with co-star Penn Badgley.

  • On whether she ever Googles herself: ‘No,’ she almost sneers at the idea. ‘Why? I mean, I’m with myself all of the time. Why would I want to see myself on the internet? I can look in the mirror. I think it’s destructive.

  • On her career and life choices: ‘I’m on a very commercial show so the last thing I want to do is a commercial movie,’ she explains. ‘I wanna take risks, I don’t wanna play it safe. I mean, I could probably make more money if I did more commercial projects. It would be nice to buy an apartment but I’m 22 and I don’t need to yet.’ (She currently shares her rented abode with boyfriend, Penn).
  • On her relationship with Penn: ‘At the end of the day, you’re just in any relationship. How does anybody go to work every day and come home? You just do it and it either works or it doesn’t.’
  • On how she’s really a homebody: ‘You know, I don’t have very many friends that are actors, the ones that I do have are people I’ve worked on films with for months. I don’t go around collecting people for my BlackBerry because I want to have phone friendships.’
  • On how long she’s contracted on Gossip Girl: ‘We have six-year contracts but who knows how long TV shows ever run. They don’t always go the full term contracted… We’re in season four.’
  • On fashion, being a style icon, and Chanel: ‘I’ve always loved fashion,’ she beams with child-like enthusiasm. ‘Love it!’ she repeats before adding, ‘that’s why I don’t use a stylist. Number one, it’s such an expression of self.’
  • On meeting fashion icons: ‘I was speaking with Anna Wintour,’ she casually name-drops the famed editor of American Vogue, ‘and we were just talking about different fashion houses and I said, ‘I love Chanel’, and she said, ‘You should come with me to the show.’ I also said I loved Dior. She said, ‘OK, well, I’ll take you to the Chanel and Dior shows and we’ll meet with Karl and John [Galliano] afterwards.’ So I went to dinner with Karl Lagerfeld and we got to spend a lot of priceless time together. Oh my gosh, riding around in Karl Lagerfeld’s Rolls-Royce with the top down. Insane!’

You got it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is NO WAY this bitch is 22 years old. Same goes for Scarlette Johansson who is also clearly lying about her age. I’ve had quite a few arguments with folks who claim these celebs don’t lie about their age.

I have yet to interview someone who isn’t lying about their age. I also used to hang out with a very successful singer in the States now and her record label shaved off 5 years of her age when they signed her and began to promote her. WAKE UP, Y’ALL! MANY of these female celebs are LYING about their age.

Snaps for mentioning that, AG. :)

    1. Thanks!

I remember you mentioning this on her birthday post some time in either 2008/9. I didn’t notice then, but she and her Wiki alike are shaving years off her. Also, in every interview, she gets a year younger. She looks good for someone who’s probably in her mid-late 20s. Less so for someone claiming to be 22 , IMHO.

    1. Blake thinks she’s one year older than infant-looking Lucy Hale of ‘Privileged’ (who’s actually 21): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1423955/
