There have been rumours around for a while now that Beyonce was going to basically invite herself to Barack Obama’s event on inaugural night – seems those rumours are right and B is set to not only attend, but sing on the first dance between Barack and Michelle Obama [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
Beyonda Farce must have been overtaken by her alter ego, Sucha Farce, when she made the announcement that she would be singing ‘At Last’. The head ‘ho on the Presidential Inaugural Committee said they were trying to keep her booking a secret. DAMN YOU Farce. Damn you and your little lace-front too. Haven’t we spoken before about your need to crank it down a notch and in between facial-spasms, attempt to be more subtle.
Farce issued a statement about it to Entertainment Tonight, “I am so honored that I will be performing for President Obama and the First Lady. To sing ‘At Last’ while they have their first dance is a dream come true. I could not be more honored and excited that they have asked me to be part of this moment in history.”

It is an honor to get to sing for the new president, but why couldn’t she have kept it a secret? it’s not like she doesn’t g4et the publicity or anything

Our new President is all about CHANGE, and isn’t B known for ripping off Bob Fosse and other decades-old choreographed dance moves? Just for starters.
And shouldn’t we have someone who can really sing their ass off? Aretha, Etta, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson, or any soloist in a Baptist church choir – just throw a dart.
And I shudder to think about what she might wear – personally, I find even her demure wardrobe choices abysmal.
And does she really need an event to inflate her ego even more? Her sense of self-importance is already so far beyond her looks or abilities – good Lord, people think she’s a diva NOW? This is going to push her into the diva realm of opera singers.
It is painful to think about.
Well, all I can do is hope that Obama’s daughters like her and begged to have her come and sing. There can be no other explanation.

Oooh, I’m right there with you about JHud. Hudson is back in business and scheduled to sing at the SuperBowl so she could in theory have done this too.
I think B can sing, but she tries too hard and ends up screaming like a banshee. It’s embarrassing to watch and will be excruciating to see her screech in front of the Obamas.
