Today has been a day to make with the sads. Been pulling my “Whaa!” face all day and going through piles of tissues looking through all of the MJ memorial videos. Having said that, nothing helps me break out of the dumps, like the news of a bad remake. So imagine my glee when I found out that Baywatch, the cheesy 90s TV show, is to be remade as a comedy movie.
I cried when I found out, but they were happy tears. Like the tears you cry when you crack open a nice bottle of Jack Daniels. Pure glee.
Hollywood writer Jeremy Garelick has now been confirmed to be working the screenplay and plans to direct the project himself. He says, “It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to ‘Stripes’ and ‘Police Academy,’ the comedies I loved growing up. Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were.” (via Perez Revenge)

WTF?!? how? why? if they’re going to do this, they better have pam and dig yasmeen bleeth out of whatever exile she’s been in since BASEketball in it (preferablt with a slow mo runnign scene, complete with red bathing suits)
I think Yasmeen has been in decade-long rehab or something. It’ll be interesting as some of the cast are in their late 40s now. Eeek…. maybe they should rescue people in scuba gear, rather than little bathing suits.

If they’re really aiming for comedy, they should bring back The Hoff in a speedo.
If they want a comedy, all they have to do is replay the old shows… the actors were pretty funny.
