Publicity stunt by the family of Falcon Heene age 6, aka, Balloon Boy, a stunt.
The annoying stunt last week, in which the Heene family convinced people Falcon Heene, 6, was in trouble, has resulted in the threat of criminal charges. The family went on TV interviews, to say the incident was genuine and not a stunt. However, Larimer County Sheriff, Jim Alderden, says different.
The local po-po are saying that they are conducting an investigation. I feel bad for them, wasting more minutes of their life on this charade. They are saying that they are convinced the family staged the stunt, in which a UFO-shaped balloon took over the Colorado sky, in order to promote their lame TV show. The show was reportedly shopped and turned down, and the hoax was to get publicity and generate interest. Some would say charges, including possibly contributing to the delinquency of a minor, means the tactic kinda backfired.
No arrests have yet been made, nor will they be made until the investigation is complete. Due to the charges, Alderden says protective services will look into whether or not the three sons, including Falcon, should be removed from the home. The family was locked out of their house while it was searched under a warrant and their computers, video equipment and financial records removed.

wow, what a messed up situation. first the cops who didn’t have the balls to say “we think it’s a hoax” in the first place.
then that dolt wolf blitzer who somehow calls his show “the situation room” had the kid admit it was a hoax ON HIS SHOW. and not only missed it, but then decided to cover it up after it was pointed out to him. then when he realised he couldn’t just cover it up he let the father skate again with easy questioning.
the next morning the kid is vomiting on national television because he can’t stand lying and getting yelled at by his dad who now realizes he’s going to prison instead of replacing john and kate, and even merideth vierra lets him slide by pretending to be upset at the media. she must be too busy thinking about that marine she got all moist for on millionaire.
and now finally since it’s safe the newsreaders are saying it’s a hoax, and half of them are saying they thought it all along. bullshit.
The kid vomited as he apparently had the flu – but in any case, it was pathetic to parade him around in that state. I hope that there is some jail time involved, the parents are idiots and I am crossing my fingers for an enourmous fine or at least one of them in jail. Jon Gosselin is a tool, but I don’t think he would stoop this low – and your kids should totally be taken off you if you can say that.
I was one of the only people openly calling this story bulllshit… I was spouting about it on twitter calling it a load of crap, and I was stunned people were covering the “lost balloon boy”.
