Australian Radio Presenters Tricked Kate Middleton’s Hospital Into Releasing Details

That title’s really generous and implies that it was actually hard to pick up the phone and elicit information about Kate Middleton who’s so pretty and her hair so bouncy that it was only hours into her hospitalisation that another famous mother feigned the same medical condition. 2Day FM presenters Mel Greig and Michael Christian contrived a prank phone call to Middleton’s hospital this week, in which they impersonated the Queen of England, were quickly transferred to Middleton’s ward, and were handed to one of Middleton’s nurses. The nurse said ‘She’s sleeping at the moment and she has had an uneventful night. She’s been given some fluids, she’s stable at the moment.’ About visiting hours, they were told: ‘I would suggest that any time after nine o’clock will be suitable to visit. We’ll be getting her freshened up.’ To which the hospital reacted by basically saying ‘My bad’ because… well. They’ve issued a statement: ‘King Edward VII’s Hospital Sister Agnes can confirm that an Australian radio station made a hoax call to the hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning. This call was transferred through to a ward and a short conversation was held with one of the nursing staff. King Edward VII’s Hospital deeply regrets this incident.’ A hospital source added: ‘There were some very sick people on Kate’s ward and prank calls in the middle of the night are not appreciated.’
