Ashton Kutcher filed for divorce the weekend before Christmas to end the marriage no one thought was real anyway. Which apparently came as a shock to Demi Moore who thought their protracted financial negotiations would never end and so had no intention of filing for divorce this year. According to reports over the holiday weekend, Moore wanted money from Kutcher before she would concede to divorce. However, Kutcher was reluctant, tiring of being married, and needed to file for tax reasons so he SURPRISE! filed. Because it’s been more than a year since they separated and not necessarily because of new girlfriend Mila Kunis. A source tells Page Six, Moore had been waiting with her hand out but Kutcher was all ‘Nah’: ‘Demi had hoped to negotiate a financial settlement quietly and then file paperwork afterwards to show the matter had been settled. Demi was asking for so much money, and [the negotiation] was dragging on so long, that Kutcher got fed up and filed papers, which means their divorce negotiations will become more public.’
