Americans are reading magazines in half the numbers they used to, according to ABC circulation data [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
Hmm… funny that I should read this article one week after I launch a site that is probably taking the place of some of those same publications.
I haven’t bought magazines on a regular bases since I was in my teens. I realised how much money I was wasting on them and ditched them like a bad habit.
I mean really, are the editors and publishers surprised? They charge
anywhere from £2-5 ($4-10) for a magazine that is three-quarters adverts, contains no real editorial value and serves luke-warm news that is out-of-date before it goes to print and they wonder why formerly loyal readers like you and me stop buying and their mags.
