The former lawyer, reality show co-star, and boyfriend of the late Anna Nicole Smith has been found guilty of conspiracy for feeding the prescription drug-addiction that eventually killed her. Specifically, he’s guilty of obtaining medications in his own name. Wow. Oddly, I never saw this coming. We all know people who conspire to provide copious amounts of prescription drugs to celebrities don’t usually go down for it; hence Michael Jackson’s doctor walking around free over a year after the singer’s death. A Los Angeles Superior Court 12-person (six man, six woman) jury made the decision over several days (68 hours, I believe). After two months of testimony. Howard K. Stern faced nine felony counts. He was convicted on two counts. Stern returns for sentencing January 6. He wasn’t the only one who learned his fate. One of Smith’s doctors, Khristine Eroshevich, was convicted on four counts of conspiracy but acquitted of two. Another doctor, Sandeep Kapoor, was acquitted of all six of his charges.
