Crowned X-Factor TV show winner, Alexandra Burke, was expected to stay in the top spot in the UK charts this week - however the star has been knocked off the Number 1 position by US act, Lady Gaga [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
The 22-year-old New Yorker, Gaga, outsold the number two single by more than three-quarters, with her debut ‘Just Dance’. She knocked X Factor winner Burke off the top of the charts, where had she spent three weeks with her version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’.
When asked how she felt about Burke, a TV contestant, Gaga sharpened her claws and said, “If you win a TV show and you have a hit record, you sort of have a false understanding of what it means to earn success. The shows are set up for a winner, for someone to win. Whereas with someone like me, who writes my own songs, you have to set yourself up to win.” Translated that means, “PNasty has called me the new Madonna and I can out-dress Katy Perry in my famous Fortress of Solitude dress. No one can touch me biatch!”
Gaga showed my fellow UK peeps some love by saying: ”It’s been a long running dream to have a big hit in the UK – my fans there are so sexy and the people are so innovative and free in how they think about pop culture and music. I was in my apartment in Los Angeles getting ready to go to dance rehearsal when they called and told me, and I just cried.”
For some reason, hearing this news I now have the hot biatches from Queen and ‘Radio Ga Ga’ in my head, so I thought I’d share the love. Long live Gaga and her stranglehold on the charts, Freddy Mercury would be proud.

She’s absolutely right about earning success instead of just winning it.
These kids nowadays win a competition and BANG, they become big stars. You definitely have to have more respect for the ones that honed their craft, paid their dues and THEN made it!
I agree it must be annoying to work at something only to then have a direct rival handed it on a plate with far less work (but more potential reward). She could have held it on though? Success is the best reward!
wow! she’s not shy at all is she. did anyone ask her where she was before Christina Aguilera brought her to public attention by borrowing her look? I gurantee you, no one would know about her if not for that…if they’re not the same person, that is…lol
Ha, I know tight, talk about retract the claws for a minute and say what you really feel. I remember the precise week or so people were dissing Chrissy A, saying she stole Gaga’s style… people were Googeling like crazy to find out who she was and BAM number 1!
and the minute Christina changes her look (you know it’s gonna happen sooner rather than later) she’ll be yesterday’s news
