Alexis Cohen, a.k.a. Glitter Girl, who many remember from seasons 7 and 8 of American Idol, was tragically killed in a hit and run, on the weekend. Cohen came in as a bad girl rocker and swore like a trooper after her season 7 audition. She came back for season 8 a little calmer, but she never did get that Idol golden ticket.
The 25-year-old was found dead at the edge of Dupont Avenue near Bay Boulevard at about 4 a.m., said Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office. A driver and passenger noticed Cohen and called 911. Seaside Heights First Aid workers transported her to Community Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:30 a.m.. An autopsy conducted Saturday afternoon revealed chest and abdominal injuries and a closed head injury caused by collision with a vehicle.
Today, Daniel Bark, the person thought to be responsible, was charged.
