Alleged former squeeze of Madonna, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has just admitted to taking performance-enhancers while playing for the Texas Rangers during a three-year period beginning in 2001 – The sportsman is in serious hot water over this latest scandal [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
Rodriguez told ESPN’s Peter Gammons (via NYDN), “When I arrived in Texas in 2001, I felt an enormous amount of pressure. I needed to perform, and perform at a high level every day.”
He continued, “Back then, [baseball] was a different culture. It was very loose. I was young, I was stupid, I was naïve. I wanted to prove to everyone I was worth being one of the greatest players of all time. I did take a banned substance. For that, I’m very sorry and deeply regretful.”

anothrt baseball player accused of steroids…deja vu, huh?
Once we stop expecting baseball players to play hundreds of games per year, then we can expect them to stop taking steroids. The expectations for these players to hit homeruns for most of the year is simply wrong! I don’t blame any baseball player who takes ‘roids, but that only goes for baseball, the most demanding sport.
