Earlier in the week Adam Lambert revealed the cover for his forthcoming album, entitled For Your Entertainment. The cover was met with ridicule.
Adam Lambert can be seen on the artwork amid a flurry of glitter, sparkle, and too much make-up. It’s a sad mix of too much guyliner, and the 80s getting drunk and vomiting all over it in a hungover daze. The cover looked all kinds of 80s and was met with hit-and-miss comments. Some loved it, most put in their contacts and saw it for what it was.
The singer isn’t standing for the criticism. He has taken to his verified Twitter to tell people what they’re missing. He hints that a life without an 80s orgy getting jiggy all over your album art is not worth living. He defends the cover and points out that the styling is deliberate and self-aware.
Read what Adam Lambert had to say about his new cover and also first single.
- Adam Lambert’s tweet on his album’s cover: Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It’s an [h]omage to the past. It IS ridiculous.
- He adds for good measure a tweet about his first single: Debut single is called “For Your Entertainment” get ready to shake yo asses to this song. It’ll make ya dance for sure.

He’d actually be rather hot if he dropped the Emo Bratz look.
When you get famous via a machine like Idol, you really can’t do your own thing and expect to be a superstar. You have to pander to the lowest common denominator…and he does that w/his actual music, but his look is not happening.
He is a good looking boy, no doubt. A little less mascara and he’s got it. It’ll be interesting to see how the album does with all the extra publicity too.
