Adam Lambert has responded to criticism of his AMA performance.
The singer gave a racy rendition of For Your Entertainment that did not get full clearance before going ahead. During the live show, Lambert could be seen in simulated oral sex with a backup dancer and kissing a male member of his band.
It’s not my style to go off on this kind of thing, as it smacks of reverse-sexism/ homophobia. When Madonna, Britney, and Christina performed a three-way lesbian kiss at the MTV Awards people were more turned on than shocked. Madonna still spends most of her stage shows with her hands down her pants.
As soon as an actual gay celebrity does it, on what he said was the spur of the moment, it’s all a big deal. Him sitting and picking his nose on stage would have been more shocking. Move along people, there’s nothing to see here.

This seems a whole lot less ‘spur of the moment’ and a whole bunch more a page right outta the pari hilton controversy=celebrity=huge paychecks book on how to stay in the public eye… adam was absolutely COUNTING on there being some sort of controversy albeit short lived as it will be, as he has no real talent and he knows if he is to sell records/promotional appearances/hats, tee shirts ect he has to have something to boost his value! it wasnt all that big a deal and i bet the network is loving the attention they are getting by pretending to be shocked and we know adam is loving it all, hell he couldnt get this much exposure on his singing!!!!!!!!!!!
my sentiments exactly. it wasn’t THAT bad, as much as it was unexpected. I was more disappointed that you couldn’t really hear him sing..at least not in the way that nearly and should) have won him Americna Idol. His voacals, except for the parts where he channeled Steven Tyler, were a bit disappointoing.
The whole “racy” thing was no big. There’s just a bunch of uptight folks who think everything should be holsum and when it isn’t they raise a fuss, making a big deal about this, y’know?
I think it’s homophobic hypocrisy and I won’t join in – glad there are others like you all who have enough sense to see it’s not that big a deal.
